Welcome to 5 Ingredient Fix!
Honesty in advertising. None of these recipes will use more than 5 ingredients. And I’ll bet that most if not all of them are in your pantry or easily located in your local grocery. I wouldn’t be surprised if you could construct a full week’s menu based only on what’s in your pantry.
Part of the pleasure of cooking for a living is making up recipes and sharing ideas. In a restaurant environment, this means brainstorming, making ingredient lists, contacting a food supplier for pricing, creating the menu and printing them off. At home, it’s pretty much the same. Use these recipes to help plan your week’s meals, and your grocery trip should be much easier since the ingredient lists are limited.
I have 2 basic rules for any cook: one, take help where you can get it (namely, grocery store shortcuts), and two, salt at the end. With this in mind, these recipes don’t contain salt or pepper as an ingredient, so feel free to use these to enhance these recipes if you like. Also, any water necessary isn’t included as one of the 5 ingredients, nor is pan coating (Pam®).
As you review these recipes, keep your household’s preferences and restrictions in mind. You may have to adjust slightly but these recipes are customizable and adjustable by nature. If your family likes certain veggies or certain seasonings, feel free to substitute. Check out my page for Recipes, Tips, and Tricks for more info.
